Kirk Family Band: Music

This Old Town-Madison

(Kirk Family Band)
John Kirk
The folks in WI, OH, IN, and elsewhere across the country have finally started to push back. Its an inspiration. Some lines from this song came directly from various folks in Madison. If there is a middle class in this country there is also an upper class. People are staring to demand a fair shake and the next step is to start demanding the upper class share the sacrifrice. The middle class lobbyists in WI, OH, IN and other places may not be well paid - but they are powerful and focused on helping the US become a more perfect Union.
Wisconsin’s 14 below. Their standing out in the snow.
It’s time to pack up our shit and getting ready to git and start moving again.
14 state workers left town. We know they won’t let us down.
It’s time to pack up our shit and getting ready to git and start living again.
The bottom line it seems to me. Is that the rich have way more power than we do.
And if there’s a middle class, then there’s an upper class and we can kick their ass.
And take back all that they stole. And turn this splintered town into one whole.
Just this American town.
This was a town we called home. Not like living alone.
It’s time to pack up our shit and getting ready to git and start moving again.
They outsourced all our jobs. The food makes us fat slobs.
It’s time to pack up our shit and getting ready to git and start living again.
Everybody’s broke or in debt. We blame ourselves and then we thank all the Vets.
The rich folks have all the fun. But they’re scared and they own plenty of guns.
Everybody here knows their place, and the poor remain divided by race.
Just an American town.
This old town aint alone. It’s every town we call home.
It’s time to pack up our shit and getting ready to git and start moving again.
Badgers Hoosiers and Buckeyes. We’ll all be here till the sunrise.
